Maya Carden

Maya is an MA student and graduate fellow in the Digital Art History Lab. Her research interests include issues of identity in nineteenth-century French painting and illustration. Maya received her BA in Art History (magna cum laude) with a minor in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences from the University of Minnesota in 2025. Her honors thesis, focusing on the social status of working artists in the late nineteenth century, earned the art history department's Capstone Prize.
