Hannah Wier

Graduate Student, PhD

Hannah Wier is a PhD student specializing in late nineteenth-century French art with a focus on prints. Her main research interests lie in the cultural production of Paris from 1870 to 1900, including views of post-Haussmannized Paris, developments in experimental printmaking and mass media, and intersections between the visual and performing arts (in avant-garde theatre, cabarets and café-concerts, and early cinema).

Prior to joining the doctoral program at Washington University in St. Louis, Hannah was the curatorial Research Assistant in Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at the Saint Louis Art Museum for two years. In 2018, 2019, and 2020, she held internships at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Saint Louis Art Museum respectively. Hannah holds a BA in Art History, with minors in French Language and Museum Studies, from Florida State University (2018) and a MA in Art History & Archaeology from Washington University (2020).
