This fall Jay returned to full-time dissertation research after completing a graduate internship in the Department of Photographs at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, CA. During the internship Jay worked across the Department's curatorial and collections management portfolio supervised by Curator Paul Martineau. He composed acquisition proposal documents that helped to bring works by over twenty artists into the collection. He provided broad-spectrum support for the major exhibition Queer Lens: A History of Photography, writing over fifty object labels, conferring with Martineau on exhibition layout and design decisions, and processing registration and indemnification documents for loans, among other tasks. Jay also provided early-stage research support for an exhibition of Chicana/o photographers from Los Angeles organized by Associate Curator Arpad Kovacs.
