Curatorial Internship for Graduate Students
Summer 2023
The Pulitzer Arts Foundation, in conjunction with the Department of Art History and Archaeology at Washington University in St. Louis, will be offering a full time, eight week paid summer internship (exact start and end dates are flexible). The internship will be open to a graduate student in the Department; graduating MA and PhD students are also eligible for this opportunity. The selected individual will work with curators and museum staff to provide research support for upcoming projects and exhibitions. Past work has included creating research files for artworks, compiling exhibition-specific annotated bibliographies, and supporting research for publications. The intern can expect to work closely with curatorial staff and gain insight into exhibition planning and execution. The Pulitzer hopes to offer a hybrid experience with internship work taking place both at the museum but also off-site (exact details to be determined between the curators and intern).
Length: Eight weeks (to be determined between intern and curators)
Duration: May 1 – August 15, 2023 (exact dates are flexible)

Stipend: $6,000 (taxed based on federal and state guidelines)

All exhibitions are complemented by programs that bring together leading figures across different fields, ranging from art, architecture, design, urban planning, and the humanities.
Located in the Grand Center Arts District of St. Louis, Missouri, the Pulitzer is free and open to the public between 10am–5pm on Thursday through Sunday, with evening hours until 8pm on Friday. For more information, visit pulitzerarts.org
