On December 7, 2019, Prof. Childs delivered a talk "Gauguin in Colonial Tahiti: Dream, Reality and Encounter" at the National Gallery, London, on the occasion of their exhibition "Gauguin: Portraits" which is at the museum until January 26, 2020. She also presented on the exhibition to a group of Washington U alumni in London, on that same trip.
In the catalogue for this show, which opened at the National Gallery of Canada last summer, she published an essay on Gauguin's portraiture in Tahiti.
