The New York Times recently published an article on the excavation of a fourth-century church at Amheida (ancient Trimithis), the site where Dr. Aravecchia serves as Archaeological Field Director. The article discusses how the excavation's findings have revealed exciting, new information concerning early Christian burial practices. Dr. Aravecchia's recently published volume, Early Christianity at Amheida (Egypt’s Dakhla Oasis), A Fourth-Century Church: Volume 1, The Excavations (Amheida VII), is dedicated to the archaeology of this early Christian church at Amheida.
