Maggie Crosland Joins the Department as the Etta Steinberg Postdoctoral Fellow in Medieval Art

The Department is pleased to announce that Dr. Maggie Crosland will be joining both the Department of Art History & Archaeology and the Saint Louis Art Museum as the joint Postdoctoral Fellow in Late Medieval European Art. This summer, she will complete her PhD at the Courtauld Institute of Art, where her research focused on the function and adaptation of illuminated manuscripts from fourteenth- and fifteenth-century France and the Burgundian Netherlands. Prior to her doctorial work, she worked at the J. Paul Getty Museum as a Graduate Intern in the Sculpture and Decorative Arts Department, and at the Art Institute of Chicago as a Research Associate. She will begin her fellowship at the Saint Louis Art Museum, then teach for the Department during the 2022 spring and fall semesters, with an emphasis on gallery and object-focused teaching. Dr. Crosland looks forward to making the move from London to St. Louis, and to working with the students, faculty, and curators of the Department and the Saint Louis Art Museum!
