Jay Buchanan serves as Art Exhibition Project for Moving Stories

Jay Buchanan undertook a Mentored Professional Experience in Fall 2023, serving as Art Exhibition Project Manager for Moving Stories. In this role Jay is responsible for organizing Moving Stories in the Making: An Exhibition of Migration Narratives on behalf of a curatorial collective of WashU researchers.

Moving Stories is a research and programming collective investigating the role of narrative in experiences of migration and the role of storytelling in migration studies. The project team consists of researchers in art history, art practice, sociology, global studies, languages, and literatures. Moving Stories is supported in organizing the exhibition by the Incubator for Transdisciplinary Futures at Washington University and the Mark S. Weil and Joan M. Hall Fund for Art History. Public programming partners to the exhibition include the Sam Fox School's MFA Program in Visual Art, the program in Global Studies, and the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS).

Moving Stories in the Making: An Exhibition of Migration Narratives runs February 3 - March 30, 2024, and is hosted by The Luminary.
