Recent Art History major Ebonie Pollock (Departmental honors, 2019; Murphy Prize winner for an Outstanding Senior Honors Thesis, and Phi Beta Kappa) has contributed to a leading catalogue on the art of Suzanne Valadon. Read her remarks in a published interview in the Barnes Foundation catalogue, Suzanne Valadon: Model, Painter, Rebel, ed. Nancy Ireson, 2021. Ebonie's honors thesis on Valadon's Black models in post-WWI Paris (co-advised by Dr. Liz Childs and Dr. Rafia Zafar) was the basis for this research she discusses in the catalogue.
Last year, Ebonie began a joint Phd program in Art History and African American Studies at Harvard University.
