In October 2025, Dr. Claudia Swan gave the lecture "Morbid Wonders/Spectacular Procreation: The Art and Science of Rachel Ruysch"  at the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe, as part of a panel of scholars invited to celebrate the exhibition Rachel Ruysch: Artist, Naturalist, and Pioneer. Each presenter covered a different aspect of Ruysch—from her artistic ingenuity and her intellectual social circles to the biological diversity on display in her art. The presentation was followed by a panel conversation and audience Q and A.
