Call for Proposals for Greenberg Curatorial Fellowship Now Open

The Arthur Greenberg Curatorial Fellowship program is now accepting proposals for the curation of an exhibit in the Kemper Art Museum's Teaching Gallery in 2026–2027.

The Arthur Greenberg Curatorial Fellowship is a competitive program open to graduate students individually or as part of a team, in the Department of Art History and Archaeology (AHA) in Arts & Sciences interested in curating an exhibition in the Kemper Art Museum’s Teaching Gallery. Sophomore and junior art history majors and minors as well as undergraduate students from other humanities departments may also apply as part of a team that includes at least one graduate student from AHA. The Fellowship provides hands-on experience for an individual or team of two or three students to curate a thematic or monographic exhibition based on original research. The exhibition should predominantly draw from artworks in the Kemper Art Museum’s permanent collection with potential loans from other Washington University collections and regional museums. Exhibition proposals organized around specific historical moments, geographic areas, monographic explorations, or sharply focused themes are strongly encouraged. The exhibition should reflect the team members’ areas of expertise in art history or related fields of study through dedicated coursework completed prior to or during the proposal process. The successful Fellow(s) will intern at the Kemper Art Museum for five weeks in Summer 2026 and will take two independent study courses at the Kemper to plan and finalize the exhibition over the course of the 2026-2027 academic year. To find more information on how to apply, go to the Kemper Art Museum's website.
